Teacher / Instructor

 

Extensive experience teaching all levels of computer classes in secondary school, in college, and in corporate training settings.  Special interest in providing computer skills to disadvantaged youth.  Teach media and marketing courses to youth interested in utilizing interactive applications to express ideas and present information in both print and electronic formats such as interactive CD ROMs, web pages, and posters.  Encourage students to utilize personal creativity to create projects using sound, video, graphics, and print in interactive formats.  Over fifteen years of experience teaching business software applications, word processing, spreadsheet, database, email, office scheduling, and desktop publishing applications.  Teach office hardware operations, repairs, and maintenance.  Manage and maintain computer labs.  Devise strategies to adapt technology for students with disabilities.  Develop and teach four levels of German language and literature curriculum.

 

Training Specialist / Training Manager

 

Extensive experience writing instructional manuals and creating educational materials.   Successful administrative experience developing and evaluating instructional outcomes and goals.  Train state workforce at Maryland social security and public health administrations to use word processing, spreadsheet, and office communications software- Word Perfect, Excel, and GroupWise.  Manage training teams developing training curricula, instructional manuals, and teaching materials.  Provide staff training on internet resources such as Medline, patient databases, and effective information searches.  Promote effective office management skills.

 

Curriculum Development

 

Design software applications courses for MS Office Professional Suite including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.  Develop curriculum guides and teaching materials.  Participate in county-wide initiative to create and implement a standards-based foreign language curriculum.  Create CD ROM-based distance-learning course to teach hardware support internationally.  Create business office technology curriculum and guides to incorporate accommodations for persons with disabilities in office settings.

 

Project Management /  Logistics

 

Plan, implement, and support international computer-based testing projects such as  installing and maintaining computer testing labs in Europe, in Asia, and in Central America.  Manage international computer-based testing operations, technical logistics, hardware and software support, and training issues.  Liaison with internal IT and data center. Liaison with external business partners and professional organizations to plan, coordinate and support international projects.
